Read Across America

Read Across America Week at Wayne Elementary
Next week, March 2 - March 6, is Read Across America Week.
During the week, we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss, the author of 46 children’s books. Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading. March 2nd is the birthday of the beloved children's author. Please help your children participate in our dress-up days!


Monday, March 2
Celebrate the Freedom to Read across America!
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Wear red, white, and blue today!
We will celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday in our project groups from 2:45 - 3:30.


Tuesday, March 3
Wayne Elementary Rocks with Fox in Socks
Wear your silliest socks and your WES 50th shirt today!


Wednesday, March 4
Today is the day for My Many Colored Days!
Wear as many colors as you can. Today is rainbow day!


Thursday, March 5
Grab Your Hat and Read with The Cat in the Hat!
Wear black & white clothes and any kind of hat today!
We will have a surprise guest reader this day!


Friday, March 6
Oh, the Places You’ll Go

Wear something that shows what you would like to be when you grow up! Would you like to be a nurse, a lawyer, a teacher, an electrician, a computer programmer, a firefighter, or one of the hundreds of other occupations? Dress according to what you choose to be!
